From this time until late 2012 shall be referred to as the Dark Times. The back injury i sustained at nationals 2009 lingered with me all that time, I all but stopped competing only doing nationals each year in an effort to make it seem like I was still a lifter. The blog started to die off because I was so dejected.

Brief History

I’ve been lifting since March of 2004 but back then I was doing a bodybuilding routine through and through. It wasn’t until June or so that I even tried to do a squat and then it was in the smith machine.
Shortly after I started to squat and deadlift and Jamie came up with the great idea to start powerlifting. I was not really interested it in and just shrugged it off sticking to a bodybuilding type routine while doing the big three.
Around September or October we finally decided to do a real powerlifting routine and started on a Westside Barbell style routine. This only lasted for about a month before we found metal militia and switched our bench work to that.
It’s been over a year now and I just completed my first competition and plan to continue this powerlifting lifestyle for a long time to come.
